I'm not sure what'll happen to Pretty Little Day, but for now, all concentration goes to Home Says Hello, where Matt and I will be blogging about our engagement, and eventually, our marriage. Hurray!

A lot has happened since the last post:
1. I moved
living with Liz has been a blast. Our apartment isn't finished, but it's looking so sweet and cute. Plus, we have a 3rd roommate now, Calli the Calico cat.
2. Teaching Sunday School
Once Matt gets his Sundays back, he'll be teaching with me. I love doing stuff like this with him!
3. I'm working numerous jobs
Currently a barista/promotional writer/event planner for a local coffee shop, a writing assistant at HCC, and a freelance reporter for the Christian Voice Monthly.
4. Planning a wedding
5. Because I got engaged!!
The wedding planning process has been a challege. Mom and I are basically on our own as far as budget goes, but we think it's going to pull together wonderfully. Matt and I are going for a sort of a Gentleman and a Lady theme, mixing in our quirkiness and love of vintage things with an English garden tea atmosphere. Mom calls it Alice in Wonderland meets Sandra Dee.
Take a look at what's been inspiring us lately:

So much is going on this week! First and foremost, on Sunday, I'll be hosting my church's 4th AWAKEN, which is an open-mic, coffee house event that allows people to express themselves (and their faith) musically and poetically. The event starts at 7 PM at Christ Community Church (1310 John Moore Rd, Brandon, FL). Hope to see you there!

I'm also happy to announce that I'll be serving coffee by day and writing promotional material for a local coffee shop by night. I'll also be freelancing for a local paper. It feels good to have employment and a place to live and friends nearby.

I'm so behind on projects. I've been meaning to start designing for my friend's band, but with the new mac, means I need the mac version of photoshop, which means I can't afford the mac version of photoshop. So, I've been trying my hand at GIMP and came up with the above. Still not happy with it though, but it's definitely a start.
I'm also going to be designing stuff for a singer/songwriter from my church, and a resource guide for an upcoming conference. Can't wait!
But this week, I'm looking forward to celebrating three years with Matt. We've been up and down, on and off, we're calling it the anniversary of our saga, which always falls on July 14, otherwise known as Bastille Day. Tomorrow night, we're taking a trip to the beach in hopes of catching the reflection of the moon on the water, just like we did three years ago.
Also, in 19 days, I'll be moving! So thrilled! I absolutely CANNOT WAIT.

Simplicity is what makes everything so worth it
Thursday, July 9, 2009
I'm pretty sure I have a job lined up for August! One minor interview just to get things settled and I'm employed!
I'll be working in a local coffee shop and freelancing for a local paper.
I'll also be living next door to my love and having dinner parties.
I finally feel like I'm growing up.
Dear child I may (or may not) have,
People will tell you that your high school years will be the best years of your life and others will tell you college will be the best time of your life, but they're wrong. I'm here to tell you that adulthood is the best time of your life because it's when you finally learn the true meaning of prosperity, the true comfort of community and when you finally understand love in its purest, most truthful form.
Love,
your mother

Things are finally starting to look up around here.
I'm moving to Tampa at the end of the summer and living with a good friend of mine. And the best part is that I'll be near Matt and Cassie and free and finally supporting myself and living on my own.
I can't wait. I really can't wait. And the best part? I've somehow accumulated free furniture.
